Hot weather can be dangerous, and even more so for older adults. Home bound seniors are especially vulnerable. Kerr Tar Area Agency on Aging is working with Lowes Home Improvement for its Lowes Heroes program to provide emergency heat relief kits for home delivered meal clients. Over 250 buckets were assembled and delivered with instant cold packs, flashlights, batteries, medication dispensers, paper towels, dusk masks, and educational materials on elder abuse awareness and summer heat safety to clients in the five county region. The last delivery is scheduled for Monday, July 31 in Warren County and all members of the media are invited to come and check it out.
