Public Comment on KTRPO Division Needs Projects Being Accepted

The KTRPO has proposed the following division needs transportation projects to be considered for inclusion in the 2020-2029 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). Aerial maps of the project are available for public viewing below. The points assigned by the KTRPO were done in accordance with the adopted Local Input Methodology. Public comments will be open for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days. Comments may be sent to the following: info@kerrtarcog.org with the phrase ‘KTRPO Division Needs Project Comments‘ in the subject line. H170619 – Upgrade existing intersection at Burnette Rd. to improve traffic flow & enhance safety

H171085 – Widen US 158 from US 158 loop at Williamsboro St. in Oxford to I-85 to improve congestion & safety

[H150970] Road Diet on NC 96 from Industry Dr. to North of 3rd St to improve safety

[H171078] Construct extension of New Commerce Dr. (SR 1649) to tie into Knotts Grove Rd. (SR 1607) to provide additional access point to the new County Law Enforcement Center

[H171084] Modernize roadway between SR 1521/Halifax Rd. & SR 1329/Old NC 501 to improve congestion & safety

[H170616] Upgrade & improve intersection at SR 1521/Halifax Rd. to improve traffic flow & safety

[A150871] Strengthen pavement to 90,000 ft. for critical air freight

[H170689] Upgrade Dabney Dr. from South of S. Beckford Dr. to US 158 Bypass; should include planted medians, sidewalks, and bike lanes

[H171083] Modernize roadway between US 1 Bypass & SR 1267/Dabney Dr. to improve congestion & safety

[H170486] Improve flow of traffic through the intersection with Old Country Home Rd./Belmont Dr.

[H172185] NCDOT ITS to improve management of signals

P5.0 Division Needs Projects – Warren County

[H170493] Add turn lane at intersection US 1 and US 401 in Norlina to improve traffic flow & increase safety

[H170329] Add Northeast (NE) bound left turn lane to reduce congestion

Project Submitted by NCDOT Division 5: H172189 – Div. 5 Non-Municipal Division Wide Signal System

Project Description: Add cameras & fiber to signals in Division 5 which are outside municipal systems & upgrade software & add equipment to enable monitoring of signals. Proposed Project Locations: Wake, Granville, Person, and Franklin Counties.

RURAL CENTER POLICY ROUNDTABLE

Thank you for registering for the NC Rural Center’s upcoming Zero Barriers Regional Roundtable. Due to the recent widespread damage across North Carolina caused by Hurricane Florence, we have decided to reschedule the Vance County roundtable.
