Regional Virtual Job Fair

The Kerr-Tar Workforce Development Board, Capital Area Workforce Development Board, and Durham Workforce Development Board are collaborating with the local NCWorks Career Centers to host a Regional Virtual Job Fair on Thursday, October 8th. A number of local companies will be represented with this first event and we expect to grow the list as we become more familiar with this new virtual platform. Free Online Dementia Seminar

Join Dementia Alliance, Kerr Tar COG Area Agency on Aging, and Melanie Bunn, RN, MS for a free online seminar answering your questions about Dementia.  This seminar will be held Tuesday, August 25 from 3:00-4:00 pm.

Register today at www.DementiaNC.org/KerrTar and submit your questions.

The most common questions will be compiled and answered during a free Zoom meeting.  To participate via Zoom:

  • Use your computer, laptop or tablet,
  • Or, call in by phone,
  • Use your phone’s camera or just listen,
  • Once your registration is received, Dementia Alliance will send you the seminar link.  All you need to do is click the link to join.

Board of Directors Meeting

The May 28, 2020 6:00 PM meeting of the Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments Board of Directors will be held electronically. The public will not be allowed to physically attend this meeting; however, the public is welcome to view or listen to the meeting via Zoom.  Click here for Zoom meeting information and the meeting agenda.   

Members of the public who would like to make public comments during the Public Comments section of the meeting MUST register by emailing info@kerrtarcog.org before 12:00 noon on Thursday May 28, 2020. You must include your name, address, comment topic, and the phone number you will be calling from, and email address. You will be recognized for comments in the order that you registered. The time limit for each speaker will be five minutes with a total time limit set aside for public comments totaling 30 minutes.

Regional Resiliency Workshop

The Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments in conjunction with Upper Coastal Plain Council of Governments will be hosting a Resiliency Workshop on November 12, 2019 in Wilson. This workshop will be facilitated by staff with the NC Department of Environmental Quality. The purpose of the workshop is to convene governmental, private, and non-profit partners with experts to help shape priorities of the State’s Climate Risk Assessment and Resiliency Plan (Executive Order 80). This workshop will help the Department share information about impacts and solutions as well as learn from communities about their greatest resiliency challenges in order to guide future state resiliency planning and investments.
